HBCU Health Initiative (HBCUHI) is dedicated to finding solutions to problems that have plagued the African American community for centuries. We resolve to solve the issues of lack of access to quality healthcare, health disparities, economic disparities, food deserts and health education.

One of our goals is to build state-of-the-art medical facilities in concert with 10 HBCUs across the country. We partner with universities, local government agencies, federal agencies and community stakeholders to ensure that all African Americans have access to quality healthcare. Our hospital management team will be on the ground with highly skilled administrators, doctors and nurses before our hospital design and build are complete.

The synergistic relationship between hospitals and universities is a well-proven concept. HBCUHI hospitals will provide valuable data that will shed light on community issues such as maternal health, the disproportionately negative effects of the Coronavirus and other viruses, and the need for health protocols designed specifically for African Americans. Our community outreach efforts will include exercise facilities,  seminars on health topics and healthy cooking classes. We will also offer financial literacy training because encountering stressful financial situations can have a negative effect on physical and emotional health.
