Bethune-Cookman University: WELE 1380 The CAT acquires The Morning Hustle
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. –Bethune-Cookman University’s (B-CU) on-campus radio station, WELE 1380 The CAT, recently acquired “The Morning Hustle”, a nationally syndicated morning talk show hosted by Kyle Santillian and Lore’l. The show airs weekdays from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m.
“We are so happy to have ‘The Morning Hustle’ as our new morning show on WELE,” said Harold Ford, station manager. “With our target audience largely between 18-49 years of age, a show that targets a younger audience and has a pop culture focus was exactly what we needed.”
Kyle Santillian is a 23-year career veteran who has been recognized for his intelligence, humor and entertaining personality. Prior to joining “The Morning Hustle,” Kyle hosted WGCI’s “The Chicago Morning Takeover”. He is frequently featured globally in publications such as The Source Magazine’s “Power 30”, XXLMag.com, Bossip.com and more.
Lore’l was born in Brooklyn and is a New Jersey native, known for her rap career that began when she was 16 years old. She was cast in season 3 of VH1’s hit reality series “Love & Hip Hop: New York.” Lore’l is also known for her podcasts – “Bully and the Beast”, “The Undressing Room” and “Lip Service”.

The station was renamed WELE 1380 The CAT, with the acronym standing for “Community…Action…Talk.” The station is committed to continuing B-CU’s involvement in community outreach and enrichment. WELE 1380 The CAT serves as a fully operational and revenue-generating AM station where interested B-CU students can learn more about broadcast, production, engineering, sales and marketing, and business management.
