Blue Tigers Receive 24 NCAA Division II All-Region Awards

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – Lincoln’s women’s and men’s outdoor track & field teams combined to receive 24 Division II All-Region Awards, the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced on Wednesday (May 17).

Eleven members of the LU women’s track & field team earned all-region recognition, led by Shenese Walker and Maria Diamond with two awards apiece. Walker was honored in the 100m and the 4x100m relay, and Diamond earned the accolades in the 400m hurdles and the 4x400m relay. Shanette Allison and Sophia Myers, meanwhile, were both named all-region in the 100m hurdles.

Filling out the honorees from the women’s 4x100m relay team are Hughasia Fyffe, Jovanna Gustave and Monae Carey. In the 4x400m relay, Chrissani May, Denita Jackson and Shantae George were recognized alongside Diamond. Annalisa Barclay also was named all-region, picking up the recognition in the triple jump.

Troy Whyte and Reuben Nichols led the Lincoln men’s track & field team with all-region awards apiece while four other Blue Tigers made the list. Whyte earned the distinction in the 110m hurdles, the 400m hurdles and the 4x400m relay. In the relay, Leondre Francis, Shanthamoi Brown and Nichols were also honored, with Nichols additionally earning all-region status in the 200m and the 400m. 

Brown also received multiple all-region awards, as he was recognized in the 400m hurdles. Kewani Campbell joined Brown and Whyte as an honoree in the 400m hurdles, and Rashane Bartlett rounded out Lincoln by earning all-region honors in the 110m hurdles.

The top-five individuals in each event from each region earned USTFCCCA All-Region honors, in addition to each of the members of a top-three ranked relay team.
