CBCF Congressional Summer Internship Program

The Congressional Black Caucus Foundation (CBCF) is now accepting applications for its Summer 2026 Congressional Internship Program, a nine-week initiative designed to provide undergraduate students and recent graduates with hands-on experience in federal policymaking. Participants are placed in the offices of Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) Members, where they assist with daily operations while gaining insight into the legislative process.

The highly competitive program equips interns with practical workforce experience while preparing them for careers in public service and related fields. Throughout the internship, participants engage with congressional staff, explore policy development, and strengthen professional skills through leadership training, networking opportunities, and team-building activities.

Selected interns receive a $3,000 stipend along with program-sponsored housing for the duration of the internship. The experience is structured to help students expand their professional networks while developing the communication and analytical skills necessary to succeed in fast-paced policy environments.

Eligible applicants must be sophomores, juniors, seniors, or recent graduates within two years of completing their degree and maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States, available to participate full-time during the program dates, and either reside in or attend an academic institution located within a district represented by a CBC Member.

The completed online application must be submitted by March 27, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. ET. Application materials include a video response, a short essay, letters of recommendation, a resume, and an academic transcript.

Students interested in learning more about the program, reviewing full eligibility requirements, or registering for an upcoming information session are encouraged to visit the official Congressional Black Caucus Foundation website.

The CBCF is a nonpartisan nonprofit organization committed to advancing educational and leadership opportunities while developing the next generation of leaders through scholarships, internships, and fellowships.
