McQueen Appointed to NCAA’s Committee for Women’s Athletics

(CIAA) Senior Associate Commissioner for External Relations
Strategic Marking Suzette McQueen has been appointed to the NCAA Committee
on Women’s Athletics. McQueen’s term on the committee will being on
September 1, 2018 and run until 2022.
McQueen, who joined the CIAA in 2016, will be part of the 18-person
association-wide committee that studies and makes policy recommendations
concerning opportunities for women in athletics at the institutional,
conference, and national levels as well as other issues directly affecting
women’s athletics.
“I am excited to be able to represent the CIAA and our member institutions
on the Committee for Women’s Athletics. Given the recent results of the
NCAA survey on the role of the Senior Woman Administrator, I look forward
to help strengthen the messaging of the importance of having a seat at the
table and being able to make an impact. I also believe that the committee
plays a vital role in advancing and enhancing the student-athlete
experience.”
Upon joining the conference office, McQueen’s role has entailed
responsibility for the management of sponsorship, media rights,
promotions, media relations, and marketing for the CIAA’s 14
championships. She also serves as the CIAA Senior Woman Administrator and
coordinates SWA monthly meetings. Prior to the CIAA, McQueen was the
Associate Director of the Davidson College Athletic Fund. She served as
Assistant AD for External Affairs and Media Relations/SWA at Adelphi
University from 2001-2011. A former student-athlete from the University of
Michigan, McQueen earned her M.A. in Sport Administration from the
University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill.
