FOOD LION OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK



 

#21 Alexandria Beavers, Claflin
(Jr, IF – Hendersonville, TN)



 

Over two games, Beavers recorded seven hits on eight at-bats to include three doubles and two triples. The junior from Hendersonville, TN finished with an .875 batting average and on base percentage along with an impressive 1.750 slugging percentage. Additionally, Beavers scored seven runs and drove in another six runs from the plate as the Panthers recorded two conference wins over divisional foe Saint Augustine’s.

#10 Shaniya Thomas, Claflin
(Sr, P – Jefferson, SC)




Thomas had an impressive week on the mound, going 2-0 in a doubleheader against conference foe Saint Augustine’s. The senior pitcher struck out 19 batters, including 11 in a one-hit shutout win over the Falcons, with just three walks and one earned run over two games. Thomas finished the week with a 0.70 earned run average.

#16 MacKienzee Rasheed, Lincoln (PA)
(Fr, UT – Cincinnati, OH)



 

Playing both third base and catcher, Rasheed recorded 11 putouts and three assists with no errors over four games against Goldey-Beacom and conference foe Bowie State, finishing with a 1.000 fielding percentage. The freshman utility player ranks among CIAA leaders with a team-best 67 putouts.

#26 Alyssa Cloutier, Bowie State
(Fr, OF – Derwood, MD)



 

Cloutier went six-of-eight from the plate, including two doubles, over two games to finish with a .750 batting average and on base percentage (OBP) as well as a 1.000 slugging percentage. The Derwood, MD native scored six runs and drove in another two runs while also stealing four bases to help the Bulldogs sweep conference foe Lincoln in the opening week of division play. Cloutier currently leads the CIAA with 38 runs scored and 27 stolen bases while ranking second with a .576 OBP.
