CIAA Announces 2022 Softball Weekly Honors #7

#11 Alleshia Pullen, Winston-Salem State
(Sr, OF – Baltimore, MD)
Pullen went 7-for-13 from plate over four games, finishing with a .538 batting average and a .923 slugging percentage. The senior from Baltimore, MD registered a home run, a triple, five singles, and scored seven runs while delivering four RBI to help the Rams to a 4-0 record on the week, including doubleheader sweeps of Fayetteville State and Johnson C. Smith.
FOOD LION PITCHER OF THE WEEK
#2 Alexis Smith, Winston-Salem State
(So, P – Valparaiso, IN)
Smith pitched 14 innings over three games, going 2-0 on the week with wins over Fayetteville State and Johnson C. Smith. The sophomore right-hander struck out 14 batters in her three appearances, including a season-high seven against JCSU, with just two walks to record her fourth and fifth wins of the season. Offensively, Smith also recorded three hits, including two doubles, and drove in a run.
#24 Teanna Davis, Winston-Salem State
(So, C – Chester, VA)
Davis record 19 putouts and five assists over four games with just one error to finish the week with a .960 fielding percentage. While behind the plate, the sophomore catcher also caught a runner stealing. Davis also delivered offensively with three RBI on five hits while scoring three runs and stealing three bases to help WSSU to a 4-0 record on the week.
#20 Saniya Jones, Bowie State
(Fr, IF – Louisa, VA)
Jones went three-for-eight from the plate to finish with a .375 batting average for the week along with two runs scored and a run batted in for the Bulldogs. The Louisa, VA native also delivered six putouts and six assists on defense to help BSU to a 2-2 record on the week that included a pair of wins over Salem University.
