FOOD LION MEN’S PLAYER OF THE WEEK

#13 Tyler Foster, Fayetteville State
(Jr., 6-5 Guard – Baltimore, MD)Tyler Foster averaged 21.5 points and 5.5 rebounds in two conference games last week for the Broncos. The junior also shot 58 percent from the field (15-of-26) and 63 percent from deep on eight attempts. The Baltimore, MD native scored a game-high and season-high 28 points off the bench against Shaw to give FSU a 71-66 win to open conference play. Against the Bears, the guard shot 9-of-15 from the field and made four of five three-pointers, along with six rebounds and two steals. In a loss to Virginia State, Foster scored a team-high 15 points (6-of-11 from the field), plus five boards.



FOOD LION MEN’S DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEKjo
#20 Raemaad Wright, Virginia Union
(Sr., 6-7 Forward – Suffolk, VA)

In a pair of wins last week, Raemaad Wright averaged 14.5 rebounds, 12 points, and totaled four blocks and a steal. In the 70-67 overtime road win over conference foe Winston-Salem State, the senior recorded 18 rebounds, tied for the top rebounding performance in the CIAA this season so far. The Suffolk, VA native also added 14 points, three blocks, and a steal versus the Rams. The forward had 11 rebounds, 10 points, and a block in the non-conference victory over Shepherd.

FOOD LION MEN’S ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

#5 Ezekiel Cannedy, Johnson C. Smith
(Fr, 6-2 Guard – Kings Mountain, NC)Ezekiel Cannedy averaged 19 points, 4 rebounds, 2.5 steals, and two assists in two games last week for the Golden Bulls. The freshman shot 46 percent from the field and 42 percent from three. The Kings Mountain, NC native had 22 points, five rebounds, and a team-high five assists in the 100-95 win over future conference opponent Bluefield State. The guard shot 7-of-12 from the field, including five-of-eight from behind the arc. In a close 68-66 loss to Bowie State in conference play, Cannedy scored a team-high 16 points with three rebounds and three steals.

FOOD LION WOMEN’S PLAYER OF THE WEEK

#11 Ny Langley, Virginia Union
(Jr., 5-10 Forward – Greenville, SC)

Ny Langley was absolutely dominant in the Panthers’ 68-60 win over Winston-Salem State, dropping 34 points (a career-high) and 16 rebounds in the lone game last week. The Greenville, SC native went 11-of-24 from the field, 12-of-15 from the free throw line, and three steals. Langley recorded one of only three 30-point performances in the CIAA this season, and her 16 rebounds rank second-most in a single game in the CIAA this season so far.

FOOD LION WOMEN’S DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

#24 Saniha Jackson, Bowie State
(So., 5-10 Forward – Ellicott City, MD)

Saniha Jackson averaged 8.5 points and 8.5 rebounds in conference wins over Livingstone and Johnson C. Smith. The forward had nine rebounds, eight points, and a steal while helping hold the Blue Bears to 60 points. Against the Golden Bulls, the Ellicott City, MD native had nine points, eight boards, and a steal, while holding JCSU to only 48 points. 

FOOD LION WOMEN’S ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
#22 India Howard, Johnson C. Smith
(Fr., 6-1 Forward – Coppell, TX)India Howard tallied 13 rebounds, 8 points, and three blocks in the lone game last week for the Golden Bulls. The 13 boards, including nine offensive rebounds and three blocks were a game-high.
