Civil Engineer James R. Martin II will be North Carolina A&T’s New Leader
According to an article in The Assembly, James R. Martin II, the current vice chancellor for STEM research and innovation at the University of Pittsburgh, has been chosen to be North Carolina A&T’s next chancellor. Martin will succeed Harold Martin, the longest-serving chancellor in the UNC System and the first A&T graduate to become the university’s top leader. Despite the challenges, there is optimism about James R. Martin II’s potential, and a member of the search committee believes he will be met with open arms. The board will officially announce Martin as chancellor live today, June 21st.
The HBCU Advocate reached out to North Carolina A&T to confirm the selection of James R. Martin II as the next chancellor of A&T but no response was provided at the time of the printing of this article.
