ONLINE CLASSES CONTINUE, ONLY ESSENTIAL EMPLOYEES DUE ON CAMPUS

Miami Gardens, FL, November 8, 2020- The Florida Memorial University Emergency Management Team has been actively monitoring the development of Tropical Storm Eta. The National Hurricane Center is predicting the storm to produce high winds and heavy rainfall later tonight and through the day tomorrow, with the possibility of tornadoes in our area. Out of the abundance of caution, our campus will be closed tomorrow. We will continue to hold virtual classes as scheduled. Faculty and staff are asked to work remotely tomorrow, except for certain essential personnel in residence life, IT, campus safety, and facilities. Please contact your supervisor for further instructions.
We expect to resume normal operations on Tuesday, November 10, but will continue monitoring the situation. You will find the latest information posted on our website.
The safety of our community is our top priority, and we urge everyone to closely monitor and prepare for the approaching storm. Please find Miami-Dade County’s guide to hurricane readiness here.
