Employs analytics to gain critical insights into hospital, ambulatory surgery center, and professional contract pricing, and evaluating that pricing relative to the goals of our organization and the competitive positioning of that contract to the market.
Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
Works with Analytics Team to perform established analysis of provider contracts;Analyzes data with an eye to inform contracting strategy.Reviews competitive intelligence and leverages that information toPulls and/or works with ad hoc data to further department’s insight into medical cost spend.Works on creating or formally documenting department resources, best practices, or training materials with the help of staff or Director.With the assistance of the Director and department staff, develop a thorough understanding of provider contracting methodologies along with a general understanding of the macroeconomics impacting the US healthcare industry (trend drivers, challenges, opportunities, etc.).Delivers assignment/projects timely and accurately; collaborates with Analytical Team members effectively; can articulate analytics effectively to a broad audience; possess strong intellectual curiosity and motivated to master analytical skills.
Qualifications:
Must be currently enrolled student at an accredited college/university.
Requires study/concentration in a quantitative discipline such as Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Epidemiology, Engineering, or Computer Science.
Successful candidates should be proficient with Microsoft Excel, or equivalent analytical tools; working experience with Teradata, SQL, SAS, or equivalent data based tools preferred.
Must be able to work at least 20 hours during the school year
