Kids Safety Awareness During and Post COVID-19
Community Organizations to host LIVE forum to promote summer safety awareness
Delray Beach, FL, June X, 2020 – On June 27, 2020 at 10am, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. – Xi Pi Omega Chapter in partnership with The Alpha Pearl Foundation will host its Virtual Global Impact Day Initiative. While the annual Global Impact Day Program, The Kids Drowning Prevention, focuses primarily on water safety, drowning prevention and kids’ health, this program broadens its emphasis due to the unprecedented climate created by the Coronavirus and other community situations. The 6 panelists will discuss virus spreading prevention, home safety, virtual education, medical information, mental health, and critical community resources for parents of school age children.
Since March, there have been more than 70,971 incidents and over 2,877 child deaths have been reported in the United Sates. The forum panelists have one common goal, to provide safety and parental assistance during this unprecedented time. As an interactive discussion, the forum will moderated by local HBCU, Florida Memorial University’s Vice President, Adrienne T. Cooper, and feature panelists from the American Red Cross, Palm Beach School Board, City of Delray Beach Fire and Police Department, local pediatrician and a family mental health professional.
