Lincoln Women’s Golf Wins D2 Team Title at National Women’s Collegiate Championship
KATY, Texas – The Lincoln women’s golf team shot a combined score of 987 to win the Division II title at the National Women’s Collegiate Championship, played at The Golf Club at Cinco Ranch on Tuesday and Wednesday (April 2-3).
Kaathi Gunasegar won the individual medalist honors among Division II players and was invited to play in the 2024 LPGA Pro-Am, which will be held in Texas on April 17.
Kaathi Gunasegar finished 15th overall with a three-round sum of 240 with scores of 78, 82 and 80. Divya Gunasegar posted totals of 79, 83 and 81 for a final sum of 243, placing her 18th on the individual leaderboard.
Marsya Nazri and Nyah Singh tied for 33rd overall with sums of 254. Nazri shot an 82 in the opening round, an 87 in the second and an 85 in the third. Singh, meanwhile, shot scores of 83, 85 and 86.
Maria Villamil rounded out Lincoln’s team performance with a total of 261, posting 18-hole scores of 89 in the first and third rounds and an 83 in the second. Elliott Hull played as an individual and shot a three-round sum of 255, tying for 35th overall. Hull shot an 87 in the opening round, an 85 in the second and an 83 in the third.
The Blue Tigers will play in the Lincoln/William Woods Invitational next Monday and Tuesday (April 8-9), which will be held at Railwood Golf Club in Holts Summit, Mo.
