Lincoln’s Ashlyn Alloway Named MIAA Player of the Week

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – After nearly averaging a double-double in the Lincoln women’s basketball team’s two wins last week, Ashlyn Alloway has been selected as the MIAA Women’s Basketball Player of the Week. The league office announced the honor, which was voted upon by a select panel of conference sports information directors, on Monday afternoon (March 4).

Alloway averaged 20.0 points and 9.0 rebounds while shooting .667 from the field to lead Lincoln to a pair of victories to close the 2023-24 season. Alloway, who shot .500 from three-point range and .700 at the line, also had a block and four steals on the week. The sophomore guard scored 26 points to lead the Blue Tigers to a 70-58 victory over Northeastern State on Thursday (Feb. 29), then doubled up against Rogers State with 14 points and 12 rebounds in the 62-57 win over the Hillcats on Saturday (March 2).

This is the first career MIAA Player of the Week award for Alloway, who becomes the final athlete of the week for the league in the 2023-24 women’s basketball season. This is also the first athlete of the week award for a member of the Blue Tiger women’s basketball team since Zoi Thompson claimed the honor on Nov. 19, 2018.
