PRINCESS ANNE, Md. – Niyah Gaston put up a career-high 18 points and Laila Lawrence posted another double-double, leading the Coppin State women’s basketball team to a 66-61 victory at Maryland Eastern Shore on Monday night at the Hytche Center.
The Eagles improved to 14-9 overall and 5-2 in the MEAC while the Hawks fell to 8-13 on the year and 3-3 in league play.
Norfolk State def. North Carolina Central 88-52
NORFOLK, Va. — The Norfolk State women’s basketball team never trailed in Monday’s contest against North Carolina Central, taking down the Eagles 88-52 at Echols Hall.
Graduate guard Diamond Johnson led Norfolk State with 24 points, seven rebounds, five steals, and three assists. Da’Brya Clark (14) and Ciara Bailey (13) also scored in double-figures in the win.

WASHINGTON (February 3, 2025) – Junior forward Zennia Thomas (Cleveland) recorded a double-double (19 points & 10 rebounds) and graduate guard Destiny Howell (Queens, N.Y.) added 13 points to lead the Howard University women’s basketball team to a 68-41 win over South Carolina State (SC State) in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) at Burr Gymnasium.
Morgan State def. Delaware State 64-49
DOVER, Del. (Feb. 3, 2025)–Naya Ojukwu came off the bench to record a double-double, finishing with a game-high 19 points, while pulling down a game-high 11 rebounds to help Morgan State defeat host Delaware State, 64-49 on Monday evening at Memorial Hall.
With the win, the Lady Bears put a halt to their season-long four-game losing streak and concluded the first half of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) schedule with a 3-4 record.
