MEDIA ADVISORY: Shaw University to Host SBA Entrepreneurial Summit
WHAT:
The North Carolina district office of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) will hold an entrepreneurial summit for Shaw students and alumni. The summit will include a discussion on programs and services offered by the SBA and its resource partners, such as business consulting, access to capital, mentoring services and specialized training. Additionally, an entrepreneurial success panel will be held consisting of local SBA HUBZone-certified firms. The firms’ principals will share their personal stories as successful small business owners with Shaw students.
Before and after the sessions, event participants will have the opportunity to network with resource partners and agency officials. Participants also will be able to meet with the participating small business owners, who will be accepting resumes from students seeking employment with these firms as an entrée into the small business world. Mr. Ashley D. Bell, regional administrator for the SBA Southeast Region, will be the guest speaker.

PARKING/PRESS PASS:
On campus parking is extremely limited; media representatives should park at the “Shaw Beach” or campus police/security parking lots off Blount Street. Once at Estey Hall, media representatives mustpick up a press pass from the Campus Security representative in Estey Hall.
