CATONSVILLE, Md. – Jonathan Dunn recorded a career-high 22 points, but the Coppin State men’s basketball team fell at UMBC, 92-67, on Thursday night at Chesapeake Employers Insurance Arena. The Eagles fell to 0-5 on the season as the Retrievers moved to 3-1.
Inside the Numbers
- Dunn hit 9-of-13 from the floor to lead all scorers while grabbing six rebounds.
- Julius Ellerbe also matched a career-high with 15 points, making 5-of-6 from the floor, including a three, and 4-of-5 from the line.
- Cam’Ron Brown was also in double figures with a season-high 11 points to go with four rebounds, three assists and two steals.

JACKSONVILLE, FLA — Three Bulldogs scored double figures with Omar Croskey leading the way with a team-high 15 points, six (6) rebounds and three (3) steals, but it wasn’t enough as South Carolina State fell short to host Jacksonville, 71-62, inside Swisher Gymnasium. Thursday (Nov. 14) night.
Forward Drayton Jones finished with 12 points going a perfect 4-of-4 from the charity stripe, while teammate guard Mitchell Taylor chipped in 10 in the loss.
Despite the loss, SC State led in several categories including fastbreak points (12-8), steals (13-8), points off turnovers (25-16) and points in the paint (34-22).
