N.C. A&T Claims 2024 Women’s Bowling Regular Season Title
NORFOLK, Va. – The North Carolina A&T State Aggies claimed their second conescutive MEAC regular season championship title after going a perfect 8-0 at the MEAC #2 meet this past weekend hosted by Norfolk State.
The Aggies were led by Lauren Tomaszewski who tallied 1,977 total pin fall and a 219.67 average. Her highest score of the weekend came in the fourth game where she scored 278. Katie Robb finished ninth with 1,751 pins and a 194.44 average. Robb recorded 223 points as her highest pin total recorded in game two.
On the season, N.C. A&T went 16-0 between the MEAC #1 and MEAC #2 meets where all nine teams went head-to-head on the lanes in both Baker and Traditional styles. In total between the two meets, N.C. A&T totaled 17,800 pins for an average of 209.41 pins per game.
The next closest team was Delaware State with 16,253 pins (191.21 average) and an overall 11-5 MEAC conference record, while Maryland Eastern Shore finished third in the MEAC standings with a 10-6 record with 16,835 pins and a 198.06 per game average. UMES finished ahead of the Blazers of UAB who also collected a 10-6 record but tallied 16,169 total pins and an average of 190.22 to finished fourth in the standings.
The teams have a couple of weeks before competing against each other at the 2024 MEAC Bowling Championship tournament. This year’s tournament will be held at Buffaloe Lanes in Raleigh, N.C. from March 22-24.
