NCCU Hires Wallace as Head Golf Coach
DURHAM, N.C. – North Carolina Central University has hired former Eagle Allen Kendall Wallace as the head coach of the men’s and women’s golf programs.
Wallace was a team captain for the Eagles from 2022-24, and he spent this past summer as an intern with the program. As a student-athlete, Wallace helped the Eagles finish fourth in the Northeast Conference (NEC) Championship, the highest in program history, and he tied for the second-lowest round in Eagles history (69, 2023 SAS Championship HBCU Invitational).
In the 2023-24 season, Wallace averaged 77.0 per round, fourth-best on the team.
He was also an All-Academic Team honoree for the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC), and he was involved with the conference’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). Wallace was a Dean’s List and Honor Roll Scholar, and he was awarded the Debra Saunders-White Leadership Award.
In addition to his success on the golf course and in the classroom, Wallace has also worked as a caddie at the Windermere Golf Club in Blythewood, S.C., and Wallace served as an instructor for The First Tee of Columbia in Columbia, S.C., in 2018 and 2019.
Wallace is a 2024 graduate of N.C. Central, with a bachelor’s degree in mass communications, public relations and marketing. He is currently pursuing a master’s in kinesiology and recreation administration.
