NCCU’s Nutrition and Dietetics Program Ranked No.2 in the Nation by Forbes
North Carolina Central University’s (NCCU) online bachelor’s degree program in nutrition and dietetics has been recognized as one of the best in the nation, earning the No. 2 spot in the 2024 Forbes Advisor list.
The program was evaluated on several factors: credibility, affordability, student outcomes, student experience, and the application process. Data for these categories were sourced from the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System, private third-party sources, and individual school and program websites.
NCCU’s program was the only historically Black college or university (HBCU) to make the list. Moreover, the degree program is the only online HBCU undergraduate Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD) in the country.
“We provide personalized support to help students achieve their degrees, secure job placements, and gain graduate admissions. Our instructors are consistently praised for their expertise, passion, and commitment to creating a welcoming, supportive environment,” said Jason O’Briant, Ph.D., RDN, LDN, director of the Didactic Program in Dietetics.
Students who complete the program can earn a verification statement to apply for dietetic internships and other graduate programs. The program holds an 85% match rate to supervised practice programs, a 91% pass rate on dietitians’ registration exams, and a 100% job placement rate. The program is one of the most affordable undergraduate dietetics programs in the nation while providing a cost-effective distance learning option for students in nutrition and dietetics programs nationwide.
