Paine College to Host U.S. Presidential Candidate Tim Ryan in Community Town Hall Meeting
Dr. Cheryl Evans Jones, Acting President of Paine College, announced today that the Student Government Association will host a Community Town Hall meeting on Gun Violence and Gun Reform with United States Democratic Presidential Candidate, Congressman Tim Ryan (Ohio-13) on Monday, August 26, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. in the HEAL Complex. Doors will open at 5:00 p.m. The event is open to the public. Parking will be available in the HEAL Complex and Chapel Parking lots.
According to Congressman Ryan’s House of Representatives page – “Tim Ryan is a relentless advocate for working families in Ohio’s 13th District. He was first elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2002 and was sworn in on January 3, 2003. Successfully reelected seven times, he is now serving in his eighth term. Congressman Ryan currently serves as a member of the powerful House Appropriations Committee which controls the expenditure of money by the federal government. He is a champion of efforts to make college more affordable, revitalize America’s cities and improve the health and well-being of American families and children. His work on these and other issues has garnered the attention of the national media.”
The Town Hall meeting will address the most recent mass shootings, gun violence plaguing our communities, assault rifle reform, universal background checks and gun legislation. This event will stream live and will be made available to everyone on Paine College’s Facebook Live.
