Shaw University Announces Partnership with the James Patterson Family Foundation
Shaw University is pleased to announce a partnership with The Patterson Family Foundation, founded by acclaimed author and philanthropist James Patterson. This collaboration highlights a shared commitment to supporting students passionate about writing, teaching writing, and the transformative power of literature.

James Patterson, one of the world’s most prolific authors with over 200 published works, is renowned not only for his literary achievements but also for his dedication to advancing education and literacy. Through The Patterson Family Foundation, Patterson has championed initiatives that inspire creativity, critical thinking, and a lifelong love of reading.
As part of this partnership, the James Patterson Teacher Education Scholarships will provide $75,000 in scholarships to 10 Shaw University students. These scholarships aim to reduce financial barriers and support students committed to writing, teaching, and storytelling. Each recipient will receive $7,500 to aid their academic journey.
