In 2017, TMCF was honored to receive a $25.6 million gift from Koch Industries and the Charles Koch Foundation to create the Center for Advancing Opportunity (CAO). CAO provides undergraduate scholarships, graduate fellowships, and grants to faculty working to establish university-based research centers on education at Albany State University, criminal justice at Texas Southern University, and entrepreneurship at Winston Salem State University.
Additionally, the Center partners with Gallup to capture the sentiments of individuals living in fragile communities through an opportunity survey report released annually at the State of Opportunity in America Summit in Washington, DC.” Harry L. Williams, president & CEO, TMCF.
