TSU celebrates GivingTuesday with Day of Giving campaign

With the impact of COVID still present both on and off campus, Texas Southern University is responding to meet the needs of its students by organizing a day of giving on Nov. 30 in which alumni, friends and community supporters can make an impact.

This GivingTuesday, Texas Southern University will inspire generosity by asking supporters to give generously. GivingTuesday is a global generosity movement, unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and their world. GivingTuesday kicks off the generosity season this year by inspiring people to give back on Nov. 30, and throughout December.

Texas Southern University participates in Giving Tuesday because it helps to ensure our students’ success,” said Melinda Spaulding, vice president of university advancement. “These gifts will not only help students access higher education, but it will also help to clear paths toward graduation.”

GivingTuesday was launched in 2012 as a simple idea: to create a day that encourages people to do good. Over the past nine years, it has become a global movement inspiring millions to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity.
