U.S. Coast Guard Commandant to visit Texas Southern University on Veterans Day

Veterans Day at Texas Southern University will be punctuated by a visit from the highest ranking official of the United States Coast Guard, Commandant Karl L. Schultz. On Thursday, Nov. 11, Admiral Schultz will receive greetings from TSU President Lesia Crumpton-Young, followed by a tour of the university’s transportation studies program, and a lunch interview with TSU junior Derek Hudson, an aviation science management major at TSU who received a commission with the U.S. Coast Guard earlier this year as part of its College Student Pre-Commissioning Initiative.
There will be a photo opportunity with President Young and Admiral Schultz in the President’s Suite in Hannah Hall, followed by additional photo opportunities during the Admiral’s tour of TSU’s Transportation Studies program in the TSU Science Building.
