Keith L. Cobbs was recently hired to serve as Morehouse College’s new Title IX Coordinator. He will assume his new role on Sept. 23.
Cobbs has more than 20 years of experience as an administrator in higher education. He has worked at both two-year and four-year institutions, including spending 14 years at Georgia Perimeter College.
He has professional certification credentials as a Title IX Coordinator and assisted in the development of Title IX policy and procedures at Georgia Perimeter. Cobbs served as Deputy Title IX Coordinator and Judicial Affairs Officer at Georgia Perimeter and was responsible for overseeing student discipline, sexual misconduct, and grievance processes.
He has eight years of experience in Title IX training and case investigations. At Georgia Perimeter, Cobbs led an expansion of sexual misconduct prevention training sessions and workshops and instituted assessments to determine the effectiveness of his work.
Cobbs was hired in a national search for a Title IX Coordinator. Morehouse College students participated in his interview process and helped to recommend him for the role.
Cobbs is the former Director of Title III Grants at Midlands Technical College in South Carolina, where he managed $2.25 million in federal funds to support the education and development of students. He also worked closely with students and faculty as the former Dean of Student Services at Andrew College in Cuthbert, Georgia. He led customer service operations that supported academic advising, retention, admissions, athletics, new student orientation, and campus life.
Cobbs has a master’s degree in public administration and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Valdosta State University.
