Voorhees University Hosts 2nd Annual National Girls & Women In Sports Day 

Denmark, SC – Voorhees University’s Department of Intercollegiate Athletics proudly announces the hosting of the National Girls and Women In Sports Day Event on February 24, 2024, from 8 am to 12:00 pm. This event, free for girls ages 10-18, celebrates the achievements of girls and women in sports and education, aligning with the National Women and Girls In Sports Day Initiative.

The event will take place at the Voorhees University Leonard E. Dawson Center Gym and Massachusetts Hall, located at 481 Porter Road, Denmark, SC 2904. Registration is open until February 9, 2024, and can be completed via this link.

Designed to foster a sense of community among female athletes and provide them with the motivation to excel in their respective sports, the event will feature a Sports Clinic covering various disciplines such as basketball, volleyball, softball, cheer, and dance. Additionally, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in the “Girl Power Hour,” featuring informational sessions from former student athletes who will share their experiences and insights on the importance of women’s participation in sports.

The event will culminate with admissions to the Voorhees Lady Tigers vs. Carolina University Basketball game, offering participants a firsthand experience of collegiate-level athletics.
