Week Four CIAA Basketball Players of the Week
Charlotte, NC – Week Four of CIAA Basketball showcased both seasoned leaders and emerging talent as teams navigated a demanding slate that stretched from early week matchups to an HBCU showcase weekend in Orlando. The conference saw dominant rebounders, efficient scorers, defensive game changers, and freshmen stepping confidently into the moment. The CIAA recognizes six student athletes for their outstanding play during the week of November 30 through December 6.
WOMEN’S WEEKLY RESULTS SUMMARY (Nov. 30–Dec. 6)
CIAA women’s programs produced several standout individual efforts this week, ranging from double doubles to high volume defensive plays. Livingstone and Winston-Salem State headlined with strong guard play, active post presence, and multiple players recording signature performances that anchored their teams on both ends of the floor.
WOMEN’S BASKETBALL HONOREES
Player of the Week
Jasiyah Crawford, Livingstone
Crawford delivered one of the most complete weeks of any player in the conference, blending scoring, rebounding, playmaking, and defensive pressure across three games. She opened with a dominant all around showing against Carolina University, where her anticipation and timing helped produce 8 steals.
In Orlando, Crawford continued to steady the Blue Bears’ offense, scoring in double figures in both matchups. Her week was punctuated by a rare triple double against Bethune-Cookman, showcasing her versatility and her value as a do everything guard capable of lifting her team in multiple ways.

Defensive Player of the Week
Breasia Coit, Livingstone
Coit was a commanding presence in the paint throughout the week, closing with 41 rebounds, 6 blocks, and consistent rim protection across three games. She opened with 12 rebounds and 4 blocks against Carolina before carrying that same physicality into the HBCU Hoops Invitational.
Her 17 rebound effort against Hampton demonstrated her ability to control the boards in high tempo matchups, and she closed the week with another double-double at Bethune- Cookman. Coit’s reliability as a post defender and rebounder underscored her importance to Livingstone’s interior identity.

Rookie of the Week
Breonna Roaf, Winston-Salem State
Roaf stepped into the moment with poise, delivering an efficient and impactful performance in a narrow road victory at Lees-McRae. The freshman guard scored 12 points on 4 of 6 shooting while adding 3 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals, and a block. Her activity on both ends of the court helped tilt momentum in a one possession game, highlighting her potential as an emerging contributor for the Rams.

MEN’S WEEKLY RESULTS SUMMARY (Nov. 30–Dec. 6)
CIAA men’s programs continued to sharpen their early season rhythm with strong guard play, interior defensive performances, and key contributions from upperclassmen leaders and rising freshmen. Fayetteville State, Bowie State, and Virginia Union each produced honorees following notable individual weeks.
MEN’S BASKETBALL HONOREES
Player of the Week
Jaiden McGhee, Bowie State
McGhee delivered one of the standout offensive performances of the CIAA season, averaging 27.5 points while shooting nearly 65 percent from the field. His ability to score at all three levels fueled the Bulldogs’ offense throughout the week.
He erupted for 29 points against Shippensburg, attacking the rim and finding open space in transition. He followed with 26 points at Howard, where his efficiency and composure steadied Bowie State against a challenging non-conference opponent. McGhee’s scoring presence and rebounding made him one of the week’s most complete offensive threats.

Defensive Player of the Week
Romeo Aquino, Fayetteville State
Aquino anchored the Broncos’ presence in the paint with a balanced week of rebounding, rim protection, and physical interior defense. He opened with a double double against Elizabeth City State, adding 13 points, 11 rebounds, and 3 blocks to help set the tone defensively.
Aquino continued to assert himself against a strong Virginia Union squad, finishing with 15 points, 4 rebounds, and key defensive plays that kept FSU competitive. His timing as a shot blocker and ability to challenge guards at the rim remain a hallmark of his senior leadership.

Rookie of the Week
O’Maundre Harris, Virginia Union
Harris continued his breakout early season with an impressive three-game stretch that showcased his instincts as a defender and his composure as a scorer. His signature performance came in a triple overtime win against Fayetteville State, where he recorded 14 points and a career high 8 steals, consistently disrupting passing lanes and generating transition opportunities.
He added 8 points and 3 rebounds against Shepherd, contributing to a 2-0 week for the Panthers. Harris’ versatility and toughness continue to position him as one of the CIAA’s top emerging freshmen.
