41 Blue Tiger Freshmen & Newcomers Make the MIAA Honor Roll

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association announced on Friday (June 28) that 41 Lincoln University freshmen and transfer student-athletes earned a spot on the MIAA Academic Honor Roll.

Nine Blue Tigers earned the prestigious MIAA Academic Excellence Award. The honorees include Nico Tovar Cardona from the men’s golf team; Emma Wolken and Tatiana Beaumont from the women’s basketball team; and Kierra O’Rourke, Abbi Conrad, Lindsey Brandt, Maddie Sechrest, Ann-Marie Simpson and Vanessa Cardenas from the softball program.

Additionally, both Shaneal Clarke Giddings and Odeshia Nanton from the women’s track & field program received the MIAA Scholar Athlete Award.

The MIAA Academic Excellence Award is bestowed upon student-athletes at member institutions that have completed at least two full semesters and possess a perfect cumulative grade point average of 4.0. The MIAA Scholar Athlete Award, given to student-athletes at member institutions who have completed two full semesters, hold a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher, and earned All-MIAA honors. To make the MIAA Honor Roll, a student-athlete must have finished at least two full semesters of course work at a league school and hold a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better.
