BC: ABOUT LOVE Scholarship 2025-2026
Welcome!
The ABOUT LOVE Scholarship application window is now open. The application window closes Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at 11:59 pm Eastern Standard Time.
This scholarship supports incoming and current students interested in pursuing degrees in creative fields (visual arts, media, performance, design, etc.), history and communications. Students must qualify for financial aid as determined by the HBCU they attend.
Eligibility Requirements to Apply:
- Student majoring in Theater, Music, History, JMS, or Interdisciplinary Studies with concentration in one of those areas
- 2.0 GPA
- Full-time status
- Cleared financial and health obligations
Priority will be given to students who are facing financial hardships and in need of emergency financial assistance.

Before you submit your application, please use this checklist to make sure you have provided ALL required materials. Incomplete applications or materials received after the submission deadline will not be considered for review.

Applicant Essay
High-resolution Business/Professional headshot (photo of yourself only; it should not include
other people).
NEXT STEPS
Students will be informed whether they have been selected for an interview with the selection committee. If selected for an interview, be prepared to share an artistic representation of one of your essays—it can be a painting, a monologue, a song, a documentary video, etc. Use your creative talents to help us get to know you.
How to Submit Your Application
Submitting Your Application Online
Once you have completed your online application, including a high-resolution business/professional photo of yourself, press the “submit application” button. You will receive a confirmation message indicating that your submission has been processed.
Note: Applications and all required material must be received by August 19, 2025, 11:59 pm (eastern standard time).
