Blue Tigers Roll to Road Win Over the RiverHawks

TAHLEQUAH, Okla. – Elijah Farr and Jose Roberto Tanchyn each posted double-doubles as the Lincoln men’s basketball team beat Northeastern State, 63-49, on the road on Saturday (Jan. 20).

Farr led the Blue Tigers with 17 points and 13 rebounds, tied for the team-high with five assists and blocked a shot. Tanchyn, meanwhile, added 11 points and 11 boards to the winning effort while Franck Yetna provided 12 points, four rebounds and two steals.

Lincoln (11-6, 6-5 MIAA) led for nearly the entire afternoon, shooting .500 from the floor while holding a 36-24 advantage in rebounding. The Blue Tigers led the RiverHawks 35-25 at halftime and led Northeastern State (6-11, 1-10 MIAA) by as many as 20 in the second half. The Blue Tigers dominated the interior, scoring 40 of their points in the paint while allowing NSU to score just 20 inside its own key. 

DJ Richardson tied Farr with five assists and added nine points and three rebounds while Trey Boston came off the bench to score nine points, grab four rebounds, tally two steals and dish two assists. Sam Rautins and Tyson Robinson each had a steal and Jamar Madge, Jr. rounded out Lincoln with five points and a pair of assists.

Lincoln next plays on Wednesday night (Jan. 24) in Jefferson City, Mo. as LU hosts Missouri Western at 7:30 p.m. CST.
