FOOD LION OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

#17 Macy Beville, Virginia State
(So, C – Sutherland, VA)

Belville batted .500 with a .667 slugging percentage for the week, recording three hits that included a double in six appearances at the plate over two games. The sophomore from Sutherland, VA also drove in two runs and scored two more to help the Trojans finish 2-0 with a pair of wins over Washington Adventist. 

FOOD LION PITCHER OF THE WEEK

#8 Leah Harrison, Virginia State
(So, P – Riner, VA)

Harrison pitched five innings in the Trojans 12-1 win over Washington Adventist, giving up just three hits and one earned run. The Riner, VA native also struck out four batters to earn her first victory of the season.

FOOD LION DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

#5 Hailey Darrington, Virginia State
(Fr, OF – Fredericksburg, VA)

Darrington finished with a 1.000 fielding percentage, registering five putouts on five chances with no errors. Offensively, the freshman outfielder also went three-for-three on stolen bases while delivering four hits and scoring four runs. Darrington has yet to commit an error so far this season. 

FOOD LION ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

#1 Alaijah Pratt, Virginia State 
(Fr, IF/P – Lusby, MD)

Pratt went 4-for-7 from the plate (.571 batting average) that included a double, finishing with a .714 slugging percentage. The Lusby, MD native recorded three RBI and scored five runs to help VSU go 2-0 for the week with wins against Washington Adventist.
