RALEIGH, N.C. – Four Eagles scored in double figures as a scrappy Coppin State men’s basketball team fell at North Carolina State, 66-56, on Tuesday night at Reynolds Coliseum. The loss dropped Coppin to 0-11 as the Wolfpack improved to 7-3.
Checking the Box Score
- Peter Oduro scored a team-high 11 points on 5-of-7 shooting to go with five rebounds while Jonathan Dunn, Julius Ellerbe III and Toby Nnadozie scored ten points apiece.
- Nnadozie led the Eagles with seven rebounds and added three steals as well.
- Camaren Sparrow tallied eight points, followed by Zahree Harrison with five and Cam’Ron Brown with two.
West Virginia (Big 12) def. NC Central – 79-45
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – In the first-ever meeting between the two programs, the North Carolina Central University men’s basketball team fell to West Virginia University 79-45 on Tuesday evening at the WVU Coliseum.
Redshirt senior Isaac Parson had another strong game scoring 16 points as the only Eagle in double figures.
NC Central (4-8) continued its three-game road trip looking to ride momentum after last Saturday’s thrilling last-second victory at Gardner-Webb University.
West Virginia came into the game receiving votes for the AP Top-25 poll after beating two nationally ranked teams in the past four games.
Xavier (Big East) def. Morgan State – 119-58
Zach Freemantle scored 16 of his game—high 27 points in the first half to help Xavier race to a 119-58 win against Morgan State on Tuesday night at Cintas Center.
OPENING TIP
- Freemantle shot an efficient on 8-of-11 from the field, including 2-for-3 from 3-point territory and had 10 rebounds in 22 minutes.
- Xavier also had double-figure scoring from Marcus Foster (18 pts, 4-6 3FG), Ryan Conwell (15 pts, 2-2 3FG), Dayvion McKnight (11 pts, 4 rebs), and Dan Maddox Jr. (11 pts, 4 assists).
- Amahrie Simpkins led the Bears in scoring with 13 points (5-14 FG) with four boards. Kameron Hobbs added 11 points.
- Wynston Tabbs and Marland Harris chipped in 8 points apiece.
