TSU’s Marching Band Headed to Tournament of Roses
What: Invitation to interview TSU’s AOB Members as Band Prepares for the Tournament of Roses

The media is invited to attend the AOB’s last practice on Friday, or interview members, as the band prepares to participate in this year’s Tournament of Roses. The Aristocrat of Bands, which is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year, is one of only four university bands nationwide invited to participate in the 133rd Rose Bowl Parade in Pasadena, California, on Jan. 1, 2022. The parade was cancelled last year due to the pandemic. In its many years, the band has performed at the White House, and at many other major world and national events, including NFL and NBA halftime shows.
Termed the “West Coast swing,” the AOB’s California visit also includes performances at Bandfest, a two-day exclusive field show for marching bands selected to participate in the Rose Bowl Parade, Disney Land, the California African American Museum, as well as a half-time show for the Los Angeles Lakers in the Staple Center.
The band’s last practice, before leaving for their break and subsequently California, is Friday, Dec. 17.
