Twelve Blue Tigers Earn All-American Honors

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association bestowed All-American status upon 12 members of Lincoln’s men’s and women’s outdoor track & field teams based on their performances at the NCAA Division II Championships.
Both Troy Whyte and Reuben Nichols from the men’s team earned three USTFCCCA All-American first team awards, with both athletes earning the accolade in the 4x400m relay. Rounding out that team were Kewani Campbell and Shanthamoi Brown, both of whom also earned first team All-American awards. Brown, meanwhile, was named a second team All-American in the 400m hurdles.
Whyte received All-American first team recognition in both the 110m and the 400m hurdle events. Nichols was honored in the 200m and the 400m.
Shenese Walker earned a pair of first team All-American awards, earning the nod on the 4x100m relay and the 100m dash. Filling out LU’s first team All-American honorees on the 4x100m relay Jovanna Gustave, Shantae George and Hughasia Fyffe. The four members of Lincoln’s 4x400m relay team – George, Maria Diamond, Denita Jackson and Sophia Myers – each earned USTFCCCA All-American second team awards.
Diamond was named first team All-American in the 400m hurdles, and Annalisa Barclay claimed first team All-American accolades in the triple jump. Myers, meanwhile, also earned first team All-American status in the 100m hurdles.
