Xavier’ s Department of Mass Communication to Salute Black Women in New Orleans Media Sally – Ann Roberts, Angela Charles “Uptown Angela ” and Susan Henry to be honored

New Orleans LA – Xavier University’s Department of Mass Communication will host #XULAMassComm Salutes Black Women in New Orleans Media, Wednesday, March 21, at 6:00 p.m. in the Xavier South Building, Mass Communication Suite (1st floor), located at 909 South Jefferson Davis Parkway.
The event will pay tribute to three outstanding women for their success in media and roles as trailblazers in television, radio and media management. The honorees are Sally-Ann Roberts, news anchor who recently retired after more than 40 years in television news; Angela Charles “Uptown Angela,” senior vice president of programming and on-air personality with iHeartMedia New Orleans; and WBOK1230AM general manager, Susan Henry.
“Our honorees will be recognized and celebrated as part of Women’s History Month,” said Dr. Tia L. Smith, head of Xavier University’s Department of Mass Communication. “We will also applaud their tireless efforts to inspire and mentor mass communication students and the next generation of media professionals.”
